We are located at Gladmar, Saskatchewan, 100 miles south of Regina, Saskatchewan and also 15 miles from the Regway/USA border crossing.
Wayne and Wendy live on the family farm which was established in 1920.They have three children:
Del, Lisa and their sons Dawson, Rylan and Brayden live in Gladmar, Saskatchewan.
Clint, Mindy and their sons Benz and Tave live in Weyburn, Saskatchewan and help out as much as they can on the farm.
Louelle and Trevor Robb live at Maidstone, Saskatchewan and raise grain and Purebred Simmental cattle along with Trevor's family under the name Robb Farms. Louelle helps at shows and sales as much as she can.
Our operation consists of Purebred Gelbvieh, Purebred Charolais and Gelbvieh cross commercial cows. The Gelbvieh bulls are sold out of the yard and at the Prairie Gelbvieh Alliance Bull Sale in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan each year in early April. Females are also for sale out of the yard and are sold at Canadian Western Agribition in Regina and at the Prarie Gelbvieh Alliance Female Sale each year in Moose Jaw in December.
We show our Gelbvieh cattle at Agribiton to advertise and meet new cattlemen and to stay in touch with the commercial and purebred breeders needs. The Charolais bulls are for sale out of the yard.
In both breeds we have bought high selling bulls and use leading A.1. sires to add different genetics and quality to our program to meet buyers needs. The cows being commercial or purebred have to work for us - making us the most money with the least inputs. This means the cows are given no special treatment.
The Gelbvieh cross cows are bred Charolais maximizing both breeds giving the calves high bred vigor for the added pounds and to be in the pens that bring the top dollar. These cows are ideal for our country being sound, hearty and having a good hair coat.
Del and Clint have young families that are getting busier each day and both work off the farm so there is no time for calving issues or any other unnecessary work that we cannot control. This means that temperment, udders and calving ease are very high priority. And for the dream to come true of not having to work off the farm, we definitely want those heavy calves in the fall!
